AP European Independent Study Suggested Timeline
Doing as much studying during the summer as you can is good because students usually have more time during the summer. Time slips away when school starts – especially since you are full IB students. Starting around Christmas break, your schedule will begin to really fill up with IB work and study for finals.
Talking with each other during the summer is a good idea. Discussion helps people remember. I wil be able to meet occasionally throughout the summer. We'll set some dates using facebook. I also expect to have some time during A4 to go over concepts. Probably about 15-20 minutes each period while TOK students are working on other materials. Let's plan on some discussion during A-4.
AP European history courses typcially study one chapter a week. I recommend we do more than that during the summer and then try to do one every other week during the school year through January. We will do some review work before the AP exam in April and May.
June – chapters 9 – 12
July – chapter 13 – 18
August – chapters 19-24
September – chapters 25-26
October – chapters 27-28
November – chapters 29-30
December – chapter 31
January – studying for finals and not working on AP European history
February and March – pretty intense IB work especially in March
April – review for AP European history exam
May 6th 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm AP EUROPEAN HISTORY EXAM
